In an effort to modernize the original sleeping rooms, CDEC is updating the Grand Suites. Grand Suites feature a living room, kitchen, and two sleeping rooms. Each sleeping room opens to a sitting room and private bathroom. Rates range from $44 to $96 a night (per individual room).
You asked, we listened! After many requests for wireless internet in the sleeping rooms, we have begun our wireless install. All three floors on the original side of the building are finished!
The Liberty Restaurant & Lounge
is excited to announce the addition of cocktails! The Liberty recently received a liquor license and now has a fully stocked bar. As always, adult drinks are only available after working hours and to those not in uniform. Also, congratulations to our restaurant employees for all passing the ServSafe test!
Camp Dawson Event Center had the pleasure of hosting the 2016 WVSADD (Students against Destructive Decisions) Conference. Close to 550 middle school students, high school students, and their advisors met for 3 days at CDEC to attend workshops, listen to nationally-renowned speakers, and network with others.
The feature event of the conference was WVSADD’s Mardi Gras Dinner and Awards Banquet. CDEC’s Liberty Catering served a New Orleans inspired buffet with dishes such as Creole, Cajun Pulled Pork, and Beignets. Fabulous entertainment was provided by The High Street Jazz Band out of Morgantown, WV.
CDEC would like to thank WVSADD for not only hosting the 2016 conference at the event center, but for being such gracious guests. WVSADD students were noticed righting potted plants knocked over by the wind. One generous student jumped in to help the catering staff clear tables after the Mardi Gras dinner. Clearly WVSADD is empowering a generation of positive young leaders!
