Our organization’s experience with Camp Dawson event planning was absolutely stellar. The staff was professional and dedicated. They anticipated our event needs and foresaw issues that we did not, and provided prompt practical solutions. The facilities are clean and updated, perfect for any professional event. The catering was delicious, and our experience was made even better by the clean dining facilities and attentive wait staff.

The West Virginia Association of Circuit Clerks held their annual training conference at Camp Dawson Conference and Event Center May 20 through May 23, 2019.  As the Circuit Clerk of Preston County, I was the host clerk for the meeting and was involved with every stage of the planning for the event.  Vickie, Marketing Director, couldn’t have been more helpful.  She organized our every need in regard to our hotel stay, the meeting room, meals, banquet and our special Mardi Gras event.  Vickie also answered and put up with all of my questions.  She helped us collect “Brown Bag for Vets” donations, which the members of our association brought to the meeting.  We were very pleased with the conference.  One clerk commented that “we really enjoyed being there and visiting such an iconic institution”.  Others stated how pleasantly surprised they were by the facility.  The banquet and the Mardi Gras meals were delicious!  I highly recommend the Camp Dawson Event Center and its staff.  They get a “Gold Star” from our association.

When we announced that our Conference would be held at Camp Dawson, our members were a little apprehensive and had a lot of questions.  What would the accommodations be like?  Would we be sleeping in the barracks? Would there be private bathrooms or would they have to share?  After the Conference, our members commented that the Conference was great!  The staff is pleasant and very helpful!  The food is excellent!  The atmosphere is great!  It was my pleasure working with the staff at Camp Dawson to coordinate our Conference.  The service and professionalism provided by the staff (in ALL areas of Camp Dawson) was above and beyond my expectations in not only assisting with the “big” details but also with the “little” details, which made my life a lot easier and the Conference a success!   I would highly recommend holding an event at Camp Dawson!

The facilities at Camp Dawson provided a unique venue for NIOSH to host our National Occupational Injury Research Symposium in May 2015 which included more than 200 federal and non-federal participants from across the U.S. and internationally.  All of the Camp Dawson staff were extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process and during the symposium, which helped make it a success.
